Wilhelm August Meinke Founding year.
The imperialistic businessman Wilhelm August Meinke establishes a letterpress, hot-metal setting and production firm. Location: Merowingerstraße 20-22, Düsseldorf
Staff: 10 men and women.


1942
Josef Ackerknecht Firm taken over by Josef Ackerknecht.
During World War II, parts of the building were gravely damaged.


1951
rapid printing press Acquisition of a rapid printing press.




1962
Dieter Ackerknecht 1962Meinke-Logo 1962 After Josef Ackerknecht`s death, Dieter Ackerknecht takes over heading the firm.




1966
changeover to offset printing Changeover to offset printing from letterpress.
The course of continued expansion begins.



1974
An offset printing machine format DIN A1 begins operation.
Phototypesetting machine Linocomp.
Changeover to phototypesetting from lead type.


1976

Staff: 30 men and women.
One of the first to implement a Linotronic phototypesetting machine: a mass composition device particularly suited for tables. Fully automatic production machines.


1986
Meinke-Logo 1986 25 years
Laser typesetting computer system.




1998
Trendsetter CTPMeinke-Preprint Changeover to CtP (computer to plate) from film exposure. The set-up of a DTP department (desktop publishing) for digital prepress layout and production.


2000
einke at nightMeinke-Logo 2000 Move to Neuss, to a company building customized especially for our purpose. The installation of the most up to date in technology:
25 Heidelberg CP-2000 printing devices (from two color up to six color), installation of workflow/color management system.


2001
Dirk AckerknechtDieter Ackerknecht 75 years
Celebration ceremony in one of the most modern printing companies in Germany due to 75th anniversary.
Staff: 70 employees.


2002
Vision of an innovative printing machine which can print an finish double-sided in one go. New printing machine 5 colour speedmaster CD from Heidelberger with coating tower for finishing coating.


2003
A dream comes true together with partner KBA: finishing coating finally becomes far less expensive. Completion of the Meinke portfolio by installing a folding machine of MB to print packaging inserts for the cosmetic and pharmacological industry.


2004
TOP-100 Member 2004 Putting into operation the longest medium-format sheed-fed offset printing machine in the world. Introduction of the world¹s latest innovation at Drupa 2004.
Meinke gains a leading position in printing and finishing.


2005
TOP-100 Member 2005 Putting into operation of 3 new Heidelberger Speedmaster printing machines. Meinke is a reference and demonstration printing works for Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.
